Specialist Civil Engineering Planner – Pavement Construction and Design Planning

(m/f/d)

We are looking for an experienced freelance specialist engineer (m/f/d) with expertise in the energy sector for a demanding infrastructure project focusing on civil engineering and route planning. They support the project team in the technical planning, the coordination of the participating specialist disciplines, and the preparation and implementation of the necessary planning services.
Tasks:
  • Support for external planning partners and coordination with adjacent departments and specialist areas, particularly environmental protection, land rights, ground investigation, mine clearance and archaeology
  • Development of suitable route layouts from the preliminary planning to the detailed development of the execution plan
  • Technical support during the implementation phase, as well as the processing and documentation of necessary planning changes
  • Review of the planning results regarding technical quality and completeness
  • Definition of appropriate quality standards and testing processes
  • Organization and moderation of planning meetings with authorities, public institutions and other project participants
  • Preparation of the necessary planning documents for the planning approval procedure pursuant to § 21 NABEG
  • Preparation of technical performance descriptions and tender documents, as well as support in the selection and engagement of suitable service providers
  • Participation in the control of quality, costs, deadlines, and project risks
  • Support in meeting relevant HSE requirements
  • Technical evaluation and further development of the route design taking into account construction site logistics, cable laying and electrical engineering requirements
  • Close cooperation with the involved planners and suppliers
Profile:
  • Completed studies in engineering, preferably civil engineering, or qualification as a structural engineer with at least five years of relevant experience in road design
  • Years of experience in the planning of linear infrastructure projects, for example in the field of power plant construction, railway and road construction, pipeline construction or similar industrial sectors
  • At least two years of practical project experience in the infrastructure sector
  • German language skills at least level C1, as well as good English skills (B2)
  • Valid and unrestricted work permit for the EU
  • Knowledge of energy regulatory regulations and technical standards
  • Experience with the requirements of § 21 NABEG is an advantage
  • Ideally experience in the planning of high-voltage cable systems for AC and DC applications from 320 kV
  • Experience in detail and execution planning
  • Good user knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience with MS Project, iTWO, SAP and common project management systems is an advantage
Framework conditions:
  • Project start: Possible shortly
  • Duration: Initially 6 months, renewal very likely
  • Working model: Remote possible, alternatively using it locally in Berlin
  • Project environment: Energy infrastructure / Underground construction / Route planning
